2021 Groningen Architecture Prize is presented by this year’s Expert Jury from Amsterdam

The Groningen Architecture Prize is the prize for good design in the municipality of Groningen. Every year, the DAG Foundation, GRAS and Atelier Stadsbouwmeester put together an expert jury or have it put together by a fellow institution elsewhere in the country. On September 16, an Amsterdam delegation, chosen by Arcam and Architectuur Lokaal, visited the nominated projects in Groningen. The members of the Arcam Advisory Committee Pınar Balat (Studio Pınar Balat), Khashayar Ghiabi (KonderWessels), Danielle Huls (KettingHuls) en Judith van der Poel (Niek Roozen Landscape), Arcam Architect in Residence Thijs de Zeeuw, and from Architectuur Locaal Mounir Majdoubi formed this year’s expert jury.

The winners of the 2021 Groningen Architecture Prize were announced on September 17. The expert jury prize went to De Geheugenbalkon, a viewpoint along the southern ring road designed by Studio L A. The public award went to the Kempkensberg residential complex by De Zwarte Hond, the online voting was won by Park Meerstad (design: LAOS Landscape Architects).
